ROBIN POWER

Chicago-based ceramic artist, Robin is best known for her eclectic figurative sculptures.
Working with a variety of clay bodies and multi-layered surfaces, she uses a range of ceramic
firing techniques.
A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) where she studied figure
sculpture and drawing, Robin is both a full-time studio artist and instructor. She has taught at
Chicago’s Lillstreet Art Center and currently holds a faculty position at the Stirling Hall Art
Center in Lake Forest, Ill.
With her focus on human anatomy as well as the human condition, Robin’s art philosophy
thoughtfully contemplates “our shared humanity, vulnerabilities, gender, differences and beauty.”
In addition to local gallery showings, her sculptures have been featured at the Beverly Art Walk
in Chicago, the Highland Park (Ill.) Art Center and the Illinois State Museum in Lockport. In
addition, her work appears in the book “500 Figures in Clay” (Lark Publications).

Show opening (private reception) at The Strange & Unusual Gallery of Robin Power’s “Welcome to My World” show March 1 2024.
